Linux Mint, logos and wallpapers 2009-08-25
I think I stumbled upon Linux Mint on DistroWatch, upon this screnshot:
Somehow I wanted to see that wallpaper on my desk. Finally I found the image and put it up my desk:
It didn’t take long to where I wanted a version without the mint logo on it. The logo is nice but I don’t like to look at logos all day long. So I contacted the wallpaper’s author Zwopper who sent me a no-logo version in both green and blue in no time also allowed me to share it with you under a CC-BY-SA-3.0 license here. As far as I understand they have not been published like that elsewhere before. Here they are.

Mint peeps may consider themselves lucky with creative people like you. Gentoo could definately use some more eyecandy developers imho.

This is not a new wallpaper; I’ve used it for quite sometime, in gentoo (2005):

Perhaps Zwopper is the original artist of the green “Mint Dew”, but not of the blue “Drops”, unless user paninaro and Zwopper are one in the same, or…
Currently, the blue one is under the “The Artistic License, Version 2.0″ http://dev.perl.org/perl6/rfc/346.html
(GNU GPL I believe, although I am no expert).

Due to popular demand and repeated requests I now release unbranded versions of my “Dew” wallpapers.
Download consists of a zip acrchive containing:
* Dew Green – The default wallpaper for Linux Mint 7 – without branding.
* Dew Blue – The Default wallpaper for Linux Mint 7 KDE – without branding.
* Dew Transparent – A transparent version where your desktop’s color or gradient shine through – of course also without branding..
All wallpapers are 2560×1600 – so they will scale nicely to all resolutions.
