gentoo-dev for Gentoo users 2009-09-11

Maybe I’m the last to stumble upon this… anyway: Nabble is monitoring gentoo-dev offering a search and browse interface and two feeds for it: “new message” and “new threads”. I was thinking the “new threads” one could be a great tool to Gentoo users that are not interested in every single mail (I currently am) but still would like to keep on track of the big picture of gentoo-dev.   I would have needed just that for the Google Summer of Code mailing list.

I’ve been using nabble “new threads” feed with google reader almost a year now and it truly is a great way to know what’s happening inside my favorite distro. :)

I think it would be good to get a nabble link to http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/lists.xml because “Gmane”, “MARC: Mailing list ARChives” and “Mail-Archive” aren’t even close to that useful as nabble is to common user. It would be even better to integrate nabble to gentoo.org like banshee-project has done. http://banshee-project.org/support/forum/

Thanks for the pointers!

Which tool/firefox plugin/whatever can I use to convert the “new threads” XML files to something a bit more human-readable?

@Jakob: Just add it to RSS feeds.

nabble, gmane, archives.gentoo.org, digest subscription, etc. There are tons of ways to get this stuff ;)
